Big boners, butt portals, and "punk rock" are all featured in this new developer diary for Shadows of the Damned. Producers Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami take us through their version of hell and what the game's protagonist Garcia Hotspur will experience there.

Garcia is accompanied by Johnson, a floating demon skull/dick joke who acts as a guide through hell and assists Garcia by transforming into weapons and vehicles. Together they search for Garcia's girlfriend Paula who has been taken by the demon king Fleming for sinister (read sensual) reasons.

The way this new developer diary plays out helps convey the pure unadulterated insanity that is Shadows of the Damned.

Shadows of the Damned will be launching on June 21st for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

like I'm super excited. I noticed some of the enemies have a Killer 7 influence where some you have to shoot them to spin them around revealing a weak point. holy poop!

This trailer really makes me want to play God Hand. I'm sort of excited for SOD but not too much.

I hope this game has some golden B-Movie influenced dialogue and I will be a happy man, little worried about this "light/dark" mechanic though since the whole losing health thing kind of bothers me I hope it's not a huge part of the game.

It looks and sounds like Suda and company had fun making the game, which could mean the game will be fantastic.

This reminds me of how they used the dude who says "resident evil 5" at the press start screen to narrate the "making of" on the bonus disk.

This game is practically calling out to me with the creepy atmosphere of the hell world and the punk rock elements.

I am especially loving the baby dolls (I hope they're dolls) hanging from the trees; it adds a special touch.

Suda51? I liked Killer 7, even though it WAS a bit of a hard play. But this seems pretty insane/cool.

No More Heroes + Resident Evil 4 = to good to be true.

I hope not, but that health thing worries me to no end, although it didn't look like he was getting to fucked by it. That's what made me put down Prime 2.

This, turns out, is exactly what I expected from those two. Looks to be a very cult/campy... If that "slow-mo" happens only when you nail a head-shot, I'm even more excited.

I wasnt that exicited for this game, and im still not expecting anything incredible buts its enough to put it on my radar to where im actually looking forward to more information about. Big Boner made me smile. Worried about the humor though, im hoping it doesnt feel forced and unfunny...

Those voice over made it really hard to take this seriously, but I'm even more excited about the game now. At least Suda and Mikami seem really into the game, and thats always a good sign. =)

Interesting for sure, but it's not clear if the gameplay is repetive or maybe the overall atmosphere and feel to the game is enough to overcome that, if it turns out to be that way. Can't really say for sure at the moment, but seems worth looking into when it comes out.

The great cheesy collaboration of both Suda51 and Mikami will be an awesome experience to play. And to those who dislikes the cheesiness, live a little and play some of either Suda51's or Shinji Mikami's games.
