At EA's recent GDC event, Spicy Horse announced that Alice: Madness Returns will be released on June 14th for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. With the release date out and about, some new videos were bound to follow suit.

The gameplay videos show Alice traversing through a dilapidated castle, eventually making her way through a garden maze. Along the way she collects teeth, which seem to relate to an earlier CG trailer for the game wherein Alice's teeth fall out. What purpose they serve isn't apparent yet.

For one platforming sequence, Alice demonstrates the ability to shrink. Once shrunk, Alice can view invisible platforms she needs to cross. Shrink on a whim. To facilitate platforming, Alice is capable of double jumping and gliding, getting the most out of the apex of her jumps.

In combat, Alice has access to weapons that fit right into the Wonderland setting. Up close Alice uses the Vorpal Blade, a kitchen knife that delivers quick strikes. To dish out heavier hits, she can switch to a Horse Stick hammer. For long range attacks, she has access to a crank-operated pepper grinder, which operates much like a machine gun.

Looks pretty bad ass and wacky. Never thought I'd say that about Alice in Wonderland.

I think... looking at all those videos... I made a sticky in my pants...

Seriously, there's nothing else I can say except. Money. Take. Now.

And... THIS sort of imagery and focus is what the "Re-imagining" of Alice in Wonderland the movie could've and should've gone for...

Looking back at the teasers and the trailers, I wasn't really convinced about how good it'd look...but looking at the actual demo footage and some of the effects/gameplay, it's actually bringing me around.

    Can't wait for it.

Wow. This looks nothing like the older trailers...not a bad thing. Love the art style, so demented that it's beautiful.
And who doesn't want to kill evil playing cards with a horse head stick?

Is it weird that one of my favorite things in this was the spinning parasol shield?

Am I the only one who doesn't like the way the gameplay looks? I mean visually it is gorgeous, but the gameplay just looks kind of 'meh.

I'll have to wait and see more.

I never would of though an Alice in Wonderland style game (even i know this is like the other Alice game) would be this appealing or genuinely fun looking. The style looks awesome and the combat seems familiar but not in a bad, overdone sense. This looks like it's gonna be really solid.

As a huge Alice's Adventures in Wonderland/ Through the Looking Glass fan, I approve. I wanted to play the first one for the longest time and never got to. I really like the concept of this. I can't wait until this comes out. If i had man equipment, I'd be pitching a tent.

I've been waiting for them to get this premise right for years, and it looks like this might be the one.

This looks like a worthy sequel. :) The graphics, music, weapons and combat look much improved. I'm going to go finish the first game and twiddle my thumbs until this comes out. I want it now!
