CVG has gotten its greedy little hands on a whole mess of Dark Souls screens and they show some fantastic environments and some Co-op gameplay.  Being the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls much of the gameplay looks similar, including the feel of the game which I'm personally happy they are leaving intact.

Ok Bethesda, From Software has you beat. Let's ante up some Skyrim screens now.

I guess I should hurry up and have to beat Demon's Souls before it gets released, but I should finish Magicka first.

I dont like how Demons Souls was artificially difficult by not putting checkpoints or saves throughout a level. Demons Souls wasnt hard, it was just asinine developer choices. It was a good game that got ruined by the "woah dude this game is so hard you cant even save unless you beat the whole level" bullshit. Guess what? Every fucking game in existence is hard if you have to beat an entire level at once without dying.

I've already played Demon's Souls so I'm not playing this. This game just proves that From Software lacks creativity and on top of that they're going to be releasing in the same year as a flood of other games (not to mention 3DS games). This will likely end up in the bargain bin about 3 weeks after release. Demon's Souls was also overrated (mainly because of it's difficulty which was only hard to gamers who started gaming this gen) and it only stood out because hardly anything came out in 2009 (for PS3 at least).

"I’ve already played Demon’s Souls so I’m not playing this. This game just proves that From Software lacks creativity"

I don't get this argument. Dark Souls is pretty much a sequel to Demon Souls, so of course it's going to have the same play style and same atmosphere which made the original great.

Anyway, I never had the chance to play Demon's Souls since I don't have a PS3, so I'm pretty excited to try this game out. I just hope that Demon's Souls isn't a One Hit Wonder for From Software and that Dark Souls is just as if not better than it's predecessor

Looks quite nice. The gameplay system in Demon's Souls was very much all its own, and really quite fine tuned, so they most likely didn't change that much.

However, with the world design being completely different, I can see a lot coming from that to make the game different from its spiritual predecessor. Which I like the idea of very much. I haven't gotten the chance to play Demon's Souls, but I will soon. I'm looking forward to this, mainly for the world that it puts forth and the different systems. Oh, those monster designs are very good. This game will really allow them to put a lot more color in. And hey, look! The sunset. Amazing.

I'm sure the story won't be particularly complex, but I'm still interested in seeing what drives the game and the world. Hopefully they pull a few new tricks with how they start the game and allow progression in the open world.
