Looks like the third installment of the Dungeon Siege series is going to hit consoles in North America on May 31. It's the first in the series to make the console jump and the first in the series to be published by Square Enix.  As is the custom, multiple outlets will be providing a myriad of pre-order bonuses in an attempt to pry that delectable 60 dollars from your wallet as soon as they can.  Bonuses have been nicely arranged and provided by Joystiq.

GameStop:

    • In-game ring: Burning Band of Scorch -- Adds fire damage to all attacks

    • In game necklace: Talisman of the Grand Mage -- Reduces damage and grants a special attack

Steam:

    • Free downloads of single-player versions of Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege 2

Amazon:

    • In-game ring: Bite of the Arakun -- Adds poison effect to attacks

Best Buy:

    • In-game amulet: Sacred Heart of the Legion -- Increases health and pushes enemies back whenever player is struck

Walmart:

    • Mini Dark Horse comic and mini Prima strategy guide'

I'm was a big fan of the Dungeon Siege series when they were on the PC and it will be interesting to see how they fair on consoles.  They were, in every way, a PC based game - with mouse click movement and complicated inventory screens. Hopefully the gameplay won't take too much of a hit when everything is streamlined for a gamepad.

Steam and Ironically enough Walmart have the best two pre-order bonuses IMHO. Swag or free games versus DLC items, you decide.

Square Enix with Obsidian? Why have I not heard of this series?

Pre-order bonuses are such bullshit. Especially if they are in game items.
