If you like cutscene heavy games that you can watch just as much as you can play then you're going to like this news concerning Killzone 3.  During it's rating process, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has listed the cutscenes of the Guerilla Games shooter clocking in at 70 minutes. That's a lot of gruff and buff men grumbling to each other in gritty voices while explosions happen in the background.

It's somewhat expected in that our shooters have taken to trade-in complex level design for a more cinematic, cutscene heavy, experience.   A trade off to be sure, and it can sometimes be easy to grumble about it until you find yourself getting completely sucked into said cinematic experience.

Killzone 3 contains over an hour of cutscenes (Joystiq)

Wondering if they count intros as I remember the KZ2 intro with the speech being a bit long. Sounds fine as long each cutscene doesn't drag on too long.

Holy crap! I hope that doesn't result in a cutscene every 10-15 minutes or so.

Oh and that reminds me, I still need to finish the 2nd. It's just sitting around, collecting dust.

The story trailer looked great, but the dialogue wasn't. Hopefully the story is better than "RAMIREZ go disarm that nuke in 2 minutes!". If I recall Killzone 2 did not have many cutscenes so the story sucked ass, except the ending, but this clocks in a little bit less than Uncharted 2's cutscene length, so here is hoping!

well killzone always sucked in my eyes, I hated the games they controlled like shit for a fps, hopefully the cut scenes take away from the shitty gameplay

Isn't Malcolm McDowell in it? Who can get upset about at least 30+ minutes of Malcolm McDowell?

We're all going to be doing what we do in Zelda OoT, you know the part when you have to talk to the Deku tree, then Zelda herself gives you pretty much the same schpeel, ya set the troller down and a snack and potty break.

Holy shit Killzone 2's story was so awful it wanted to make me slit my wrists, and now Killzone 3 has an hour long fucking cutscene?!? Watching an hour long Killzone cutscene sounds about as much fun as putting a shotgun in my mouth. And FUCK RICO.
