EA has released some new videos showing off more single and multiplayer action of their upcoming sci-fi action-horror game.

We get a closer look at the multiplayer, and a deeper look at how the development team created a balance between both action and tension in the single player experience.

Did anyone else think Left for Dead Space 2 when they saw the multiplayer? Not that there's anything wrong with that, at least it's not Team Deathmatch or something.

Also, they said that there would be more "Sophisticated Scares" in the single player, but I don't think they really went in depth on what exactly they meant, unless "Our monsters look fucked up" is what they meant, then I don't think that's all that sophisticated then. >_>

They also talked about breaking up the tension with high action moments, which reminded me of the FEAR series where you can always tell when you're in a "Action area" and a "Spooky area", which I don't really like since it's so black and white when something scary can happen.

it gives me a little more confidence to hear from them that they acknowledge how their first game relied a little too much on pop out scares, and I'm almost sure it'll be at least better than the first one, and I loved the first dead space =)

Great..tagged on pointless multiplayer. Cannot developers just concentrate on the single player and make that experience epic?

Well, I'm just hoping it doesn't end up being a Bioshock 2 multi-player wise.
Though honestly, why does every game nowadays feel the need to have online multi-player? A game like Dead Space is something meant to be a personal, solo experience. Adding in multi player just doesn't seem fitting.

I was in the beta for the multiplayer and it was really fun. It's one of the few games that I can see myself playing the multiplayer in for a long time to come. It has a L4D feel to it but at the same time it's more mission based multiplayer so it's not just running from checkpoint to checkpoint.

so far all I've heard is left 4 dead this and left 4 dead that so what? Did we not like that game? Besides is it really left 4 dead? there are more genuine scares due to the fact that you can control the scary fuckers to make a zip dash in a dim corridor to show the other team that your somewhere and going to pop out.
Is there a tank? no because they don't let you control the brute, spitter? yes but at least it isn't wearing pigtails and a thong, hunter? no because everything pounces, jocky? not unless you coun't the babies, etc.

I think it is an awesome idea that will make me want to play more and more each time.
