Tozai Games announced that Spelunker HD will launch today on the PlayStation Network in North America. And as much as "Spelunking" sounds like a sex act involving the anus,  this is actually a re-imagining of the 1983 NES classic which was known for having a somewhat brutal difficulty. Maybe not so much as Ghost's and Goblins, but getting up there.  Especially when you get the anus involved.

The game follows closely in the footsteps of the 1983 original, including many of the same enemies and environmental hazards but with a whole lot of new goodies thrown in. 100 new levels, and 10 newly designed worlds are all included.  The game also sports an option to be played in flat 2D for those who like their nostalgia a little more pure.

Spelunker HD will cost you$9.99 and a trip to the PlayStation store.  Catch the trailer below.

At first I thought that this was for the HD Spelunky remake, this is much less exciting.

But this game does look pretty cool.
