Microsoft has raised the bar yet again, this time forcasting the sale of 70 GAZZILLION (5 million) Kinect units this Holiday. This all from a tweet from Bloombergs Dana Glass who said
"That would make Kinect the biggest Xbox product launch ever in terms of sales, according to Microsoft's Don Mattrick."
Adding credibility to the claim, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg retweeted said tweet on his twitter which does tweet! 5 million is a lot of units but I'm not sure if that number counts the units that Microsoft is selling to themselves and then giving away at Burger King for free.
In any case, tonight is the night. Kinect will hit us like an asteroid and OUR LIVES WILL SURELY BE CHANGED FOREVER!
MS now expects 5M Kinect sales this Xmas (Computers and Video Games)

today in my marketing class, someone brought Kinect up, and all those goofs said that they would buy one. and that's the way they market this product at "those" people, i wouldnt even bother calling them casual gamers, i'd just call them.. "them".

Heh, remember when the 360 first came out and so many people wanted them that stores were out of stock for weeks and weeks? And Microsoft simply couldn't ship enough copies to meet the extremely high demand?
I predict (and really, really hope) the opposite happens this time.

I honestly cannot see that many people wanting to blow that much money on it. Hell, how many people in their target demographic even own a 360 or don't already own a Wii? :P

Somehow i don't think Kinect will do that good. I hardly believe it gonna sell all that much.

5 million...really? I don't see MS hitting that number until maybe mid Q1 2011. It will probably do a little better than PS Move, but not overwhelmingly better.

Well I don't know I mean I've actually heard a few people at my school talking about how they got kinects or are getting them this Christmas. Obviously this means nothing but it shows that it is atleast selling somewhat

And to think if I had still owned a 360 & had a LIVE membership that I'd be essentially helping to fund this shit. That in itself is a mindfuck.

Oh god. Please don't. Video game gods... please don't allow that to happen.
And then, knowing our luck... it's gonna happen. That will be a sad day for videogamers... but to not be so one sided, I'm sure civillians (non-gamers) families are going to be quite happy.
