Developing games incorrectly does have consequences.  Reviews for the new Medal of Honor have been coming out and it's not looking so good for EA.  The 22 reviews released so far are adding up to a Metacritic score of  74%. Ouch.  People are complaining about a buggy and depth-less experience which makes it seem like a game that doesn't quite live up to the bloviating that EA has been putting behind it.  It sure is a good thing that they took the word "Taliban" out of the multiplayer instead of fixing the real issues with the game. Nice work EA.

A COD-killer it is not.

The cool reception has taken hit EA where it hurts most. It's stock, which has dropped 6% since the word has gotten around about the game.   Wall Street people, never ones to really pin anything on anything, weren't so quick to find the connection.

"This is a high-profile game where EA owns the [intellectual property], which can result in above-average margins as no license fee or royalty has to be paid to another entity," Handler told the paper. "As such, I think it's a situation where some of the air is being let out of the balloon following a nice run in the shares and high expectations for the Medal of Honor reboot."

Says Mr. Smarty Pants analyst Colin Sebastian who probably runs into a room full of bad guys without first checking to make sure he doesn't need to reload.

Pretty much expected this the moment the beta arrived. EA programming talent just seems to be so poor as of late.

    Wow. 6%? That's crazy.

The advertising was terrible though. Linkin Park revealing a new song from their much anticipated album? It being...mediocre. The trailer being so uninteresting. Just didn't work. Didn't fit at all. The news isn't too surprising but let's see how far that stock plummets if they don't learn to get their stuff together.

I dunno, "Mr. Smarty Pants" may not be a gamer, but he probably knows what he's talking about as far as business is concerned.

Why did they even start thinking about taking the leap of faith after Bad Company 2 was getting popular? The beta for MoH was alright, but it was nothing new or refreshing. It's basically a toned down BC2 as in terms of multiplayer, but I don't know how the singleplayer works since I haven't played it.

It's typical for EA to fuck up with the 1st week of release, bugs galore. It happened to BC2 also (and so did many of their previous games). They don't usually fix the major glitches until after 2-4 weeks after release, and that's a bad trend IMO.

I played through the entire campaign, while it did have a few issues, one of which it was too short. It was rather fun and entertaining for the time I did play it.

The Multiplayer is fun as well, but I believe they (the people who review games) dont want to give this game the credit it is due because they are USED to playing games like Call of Duty where you can run in and decimate the enemy team with a spray from your assault rifle. In this game it is very slow paced punctuated by times of heavy combat. You dont just run in unless you want to die over and over and over. You take your time and move slowly.

Despite the reviews.. I'm still really looking forward to getting my hands on MoH. Granted I had hoped it would be received a little better, but I guess it is what it is.

played the beta and seen the propaganda. It feels so much like it tried to be call of duty like alot of FPS games do. Its a shame too because i hate Call of Duty for its ability to get morons on the internet so easily. But Blackops looks pretty killer and I can see why people may not be intrested in MoH

Well I really enjoyed the campaign even though it was short, the audio was great and it had some nice variation unlike CoD. The MP sucks though, it feels way too simple, no doubt DICE didn't want to devalue BFBC2 MP by making something better in MoH.
