Excuse me if I look like The Joker on 5 pills of ecstasy but I just can't help it. It's the reaction any sane person on this earth will have to this new trailer for Kirby: Epic Yarn. Not only is it overflowing with a cuteness that could kill a racehorse, the gameplay mechanics look simply stunning.  Check out the different areas, the different forms Kirby can take? Was that a yarn-spaceship I saw? F*%K yes.

I've been excited about this game since we first saw it revealed at E3, and you also know from my previous posts how I feel about Kirby.

Kirby: Epic Yarn is set for release on October 17, 2010 for the Wii.

this is gonna be one of those games thats remembered for a while. the visual style alone will allow many to play it from years to come. do wonder if nintendo will keep to this yarn style? nintendo has always used Kirby to experiment with new gameplay mechanics and styles like full touchscreen gameplay with canvas curse and multiplayer with that mirrior one.

Honestly though, Epic Yarn reminds me greatly of Okami. Both have artstyles and gameplay mechanics that blend perfectly together. never once do you question why you can do something for the style of the world makes everything you do logical.

I don't understand why there are people who are doubting this game or not seeing any charm in this. I am loving the looks of this so far. Seeing this at E3 put a smile on my face that always comes back whenever I see new footage of this game. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

I was never really excited about this game. After watching some trailers it looks like there is enough variey to keep me interested, and thats what I look for in platformers.

I honestly can't wait for this game to come out. It's going to be such a great breath of fresh air from all those brown FPS games. I don't care if Kirby doesn't have his suck'n'copy ability anymore, they're putting in other gameplay mechanics to make up for it.

I was honestly quite skeptical at first considering they took away his, er, sucking powers, but they made him into a goddamn TRANSFORMER which is cool as fuck.

Well, Kirby still sort has his sucking mechanic, where the lassos an enemy and whips em back at something. He doesn't have his copy power ability, but, I don't think that's an issue. I'm familiar with Kirby before he had powers, and that's fun too.

I just miss the little pink dude. I'm glad he's getting a console release. :D

It seems like the original kirby except much more. (FYI the very first kirby game only let you suck the enemy then spit it out. There was no copy ability at all.)

Although I personally love the copy ability, this game seems to have much more other functions that will keep people entertained.

Can't wait to try this out. XD

The copying ability is one of the things that made the Kirby games so successful. Take that away and you have this, just a platformer that shares the same name. It kind of feels like what Mario Sunshine was: despite the fact that it was still pretty fun, it had a completely unfamiliar feel to it.

But when seen as "just a platformer", this game still looks rather impressive. I'm gonna get it when it comes out.
