Below is the trailer (gameplay and all) for the new horror game collaboration between Killer 7 creator, Goichi Suda, and Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami. Shadows of the Damned appears to be Resident Evil 4/5 if the series didn't take itself way too seriously. I get Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness vibes from this trailer -- which is a very good thing. Sure I would have liked a "scary" game; but if I can get the gameplay of a Mikami game mixed with the insanity of a Suda game, then I'm a happy camper. I am hoping that is what I'm looking at here. I really don't want the gameplay of a Suda game mixed with the terrible self seriousness of a Resident Evil.

Can anyone help me point out all the B-Horror movie references in this trailer? I already see two from Evil Dead.

i don't know what it is but that guys eyes look wierd, like he's not able to focus on whats directly infront of him.

also, again, why lack of pc support?

this actually looks pretty badass. it kinda reminds me of the movie Ghost Rider. the part where the gun transformed into a skull-gun was like in the movie.
i hope you can shoot and move at the same time unlike the Resident Evil series. but even if that is gonna be put into the game, i would still play it. i'm wondering what the heck is the story line in this game. just showed a lot of random shooting.

I would have to re-watch the Evil Dead movie to find those references the biggest one, other then the guy looking like Bruce Campbell aka Ash Williams, I saw was the stuffed animal head. This nice blend of camp will probably really get me into this game, it was one of the reasons I adored RE4 so much. I hope the game is set up in a way where challenge runs are a possibility, in a third person shooter that's a huge selling point for me.

Resident evil like gameplay from Shinji Mikami.
Sheer insanity and humor from Suda 51.
    Music from Akira Yamaoka.
    Count me in.

The only Evil Dead reference I caught was at :50 you see a demon lifting a trapped door in a very similar position as the witch in the basement of Evil Dead 2.

Still looks pretty damn scary to me. >_>

It really does look like RE4/5 gameplay with a suda51 influence in the story/world. Well, I can't really say anything about the story yet, since we really didn't get to see any of it in this trailer, but I can see some suda influence in the world, like that neon green soda machine they showed for 2 seconds.

Buying it. Trailer looks amazing and i got the same evil dead vibe. (one of my fave movie series) It doesn't hurt that the guy who worked on my favorite game of all time (Re4) and the guy who makes some of the best music in video games to date, is working on it.

You can easily see how Suda51 ruined this game. It could've been a horror game but this will be nothing but a typical action packed shooter. A mediocre one at that. People are going to be hoping for RE4 and get something entirely different, a terrible game.

    Shinji Mikami.
    Suda 51.
    Akira Yamaoka.

This is like a fucking dream team of humor-horror.

Resident Evill 4 is one of my favourite games, but it was way to serious, SIlent Hill has great atmosphere and music, but insulting combat, and Suda's games have the better stories. It should be awesome.

But sometimes, here comes a film reference, when you have to many 'leading men' you can really douche up a project.

Jeez I realize that the voice actor of the MC may be there for him to fill a B movie hero role but please change it. I just couldn't deal with that for a full game.

Yes. Yesssss. I will be so freaked out when I play this, I know, but by gods, it looks fun.

I thought of evil dead what with that basement and trap door thing. However, it looks funny. I hope that there is a weird camera that seems to be chasing after the character. I'd like that. A lot. It's been a while since I last saw Evil Dead, though, soooo...neh.

Looks great though. I want to see more combat, first.

While I'll miss him in silent hill it's great to hear Akira Yamaoka do something else than industrial pipe clanging and low tier chanting.
The soundtrack is what most excites me in this trailer and the rest of the game looks absolutely awesome.

Have to say, I want this now.
