For those unaware, Volition has been releasing Question and Answer diaries where they take questions submitted by the community and answer on the youtubes. It's a really good idea and does a lot to bring the community closer to the developers while keeping developers from creating within an echo-chamber.

Part 4 of the series has just been released and David Abzug (Zug), Design Director for Red Faction: Armageddon, answers questions regarding enemy types, structure types, and bosses are included.

Personally I wish more developers would do something like this. Its something that I've seen often in the forums of MMO's that are under development but very rarely in console games.  Its a good change.

I would venture to guess that most people don't do a Q&A for their game because they fear it could put a bright spotlight on any flaws and they might look bad scrambling to best answer an awkward or glaring question. I can at least appreciate the openness of holding a Q&A, not to mention it tells people that the developers are actually excited to show their work and care enough about their potential customers to take the time to basically be interrogated. I'm sure they pick and choose which questions will be answered but that aside, they seem to have picked some important ones. My anticipation for this game is increasing as my mind runs wild tries to imagine what they've got in store.

This is something really nice to see and something I'd love to see more often.
I'm the kind of person who goes through all the extra features when going through a DVD including commentary, even for a tv series like The Office. I always feel disappointed if there isn't some sort of behind the scenes feature on a DVD.

So seeing more things like this would be quite nice indeed.
