Years of waiting and wondering have finally come to an end. It's finally been confirmed that Megaman Legends 3 is being made. Now this might not surprise people. There have been hints of its existence all over the net. No, the real surprise is that it's being developed for the 3DS.
I didn't expect my favorite Megaman series to resurface on a handheld and I don't know if I'm all that happy about it. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and reserve judgment until some more information surfaces, which luckily won't be too far from now. Here's an excerpt regarding upcoming announcements about the project.

Hi everyone! This is Masakazu Eguchi, director of MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3!
So, how about that Keiji Inafune special interview? Did you like that?
As you can see, Inafune is very enthusiastic about this project. And that new development style that he said he would go into more detail about later, I’m sure you won't be disappointed by that. We think not only fans of the series, but anyone interested in Mega Man Legends will be like, “What? ...OMG!!!”
When I and the rest of the staff first heard that were that we were doing this, we were shaking in our boots. All of us were asking our bosses, “Are you guys serious?”
But the proposition was interesting to say the least. So, now here we are making intense preparations and trying to stay on schedule.
...Having said that, there are so many details about the project that I am dying to tell all of you... but you'll have to wait and let your imaginations run wild for just a little longer, until the Comic Con in New York next month!
Until then, I'll use this blog to introduce to members of my team, and tell you a little about what's going on here in the Dev Lab. I'll do my best to update it at least once a week, so check back often!

Well that just sucks for me anyway, I'm one of those people that can't play handhelds not because I dislike them or anything but because I get a massive headache everytime I try to play one, I don't know if it's because of the small screens or what but more than 5 minutes with any handheld consoles gives me a fuckin headache.

Ahhh Capcom, you decide to revive a great series and then gimp it by releasing it on a handheld. This would've been a great comeback for a great series, if Capcom released it on the consoles

I just hope it's good, sells, and gets a sequel or something on next gen consoles. That doesn't say I'm writing this game off completely though.

First you hand off one of your greatest action games to a Western developer known for piss poor combat. Now Capcom takes one of their best series possibly EVER, and through it in the handheld shit storm.

I don't see why people are complaining about this coming to the 3DS, considering what they've shown the handheld is capable of so far. If the game is good, to hell if it's on consoles or handhelds, I'll still play it
Be glad the a 3rd is actually coming out (if they make it work that is, fuck you 3rd bday)
(Unless you want ZOMG HD graphics on a megaman legends game... or cheevos)

I've been waiting for this game for a while as I loved the last two. Though, it being on a handheld has me pretty worried. I know the older games didn't have all that great controls, and I was kinda hoping they would fix that up, but seeing it coming on the 3DS has me worried on how it'll turn out.
I'll probably still play it though, even if it turns out to control like crap. >_>

Ya when it comes to the 3DS I think it such a powerfule system that I don't mind them putting it on it. But I have no investment in Megaman legends, never played any of them.

Well damn it all to hell. I am never going to play this game. Why is everything suddenly popping up on the 3DS. Not worth the $300.
Fuck you of the week goes to Masakazu Eguchi and Keiji Inafune for putting this on the 3DS.

Maybe Capcom will release Legends 1 and 2 on the PSN now. I never did get a chance to play the second one.
