So for all you who know and those who don't know, we are doing a Panel at PAX this year. It's entitled Do You Have A Chance Against IGN, 1UP, & GameSpot? Recently they released the Official Scheduling for PAX and apparently we don't have a chance because if you'll look at the screen cap above you'll see that we're only set for a thirty minute panel while everyone else on the list is being allotted an hour, with some of the more popular ones given an hour plus thirty. Is this an attempt to keep us down? Throwing us bone only to snatch it away because we're a small undeserving site?

Nah probably not. It's more than likely just a typo as I doubt any panel at PAX is doable in thirty minutes. Also our panel has been accepted for about a month and the confirmation email said it was from6pm to 7pm. But I do find it incredibly ironic that out of all the panels in the ENTIRE schedule, ours was the one with a typo shortening our time slot.

So to reiterate about the panel, we'll be talking about the above topics. Brad, Nick, and I will be talking about some of the things we've done to get to where we are and what we'll need to do to keep moving forward.

As mentioned before, Gus Sorola from Rooster Teeth Productions will be on the panel to talk about their challenges when starting their original website, DrunkGamers. I'm sure he'll have stories about the decisions made to move to a machinima series and how they built one of the most unique video game websites on the internet.

In addition, we recently had Jim Sterling from Destructoid free up some time from his schedule to be able to participate and represent Destructoid during the panel. Destructoid was originally just an attempt by founder Yanier Gonzales to gain access to the Press Only Event, E3. But throught hard work and a strong community following it has now grown to become one of the three major video game blogs. So we're sure Mr. Sterling will have plenty to contribute.

So that's it for today. Please remember I wasn't completely serious about the PAX Schedule typo. I've contact PAX Panels and I'm sure we'll get it all sorted out before September. Also we're up against some pretty serious competition with panels like Gametrailers featuring ScrewAttack & Hey Ash What'cha Playin'? and Square-Enix in the main theater going on, so please come to the panel or help spread the word.

Peace!
David

You should give Jim Sterling a congratulatory punch to the face, preferably knocking him out for the remainder of the convention.

I feel the way the summary of the panel is worded makes the people who are hosting the event look like losers, Rooster Teeth alone is much more popular then the GameSpot guys and the 4PP has more viewers every week then IGN can muster in two.

I'm so excited for this. I saw Jim Sterlings tweet and I exploded with awesome. Can't believe PAX people typo'd this. I hope it gets corrected.

Don't worry David, I'm sure everybody would rather see 4PP than HAWP. Seriously, WTF is up with that show? BTW, I'm from Norway so I can't go to PAX, so I was wondering if this panel is going to be recorded and put on this site or YouTube?

Ah, I wish I could go to PAX next month, but school's going to be in the way...
Will there be any chance that you guys be recording the panel? It'd be awesome if you did.

I wish I could make it to PAX, just for that panel. Is someone going to be able to record it?

Yes, please record it and maybe broadcast it like you guys did with the E3 footage. 4pp rulez!

Man I wish I could go to PAX purely for your panel. Since I first discovered 4PP, it has become my all time favorite video game related website.

PS. I really hope its a typo and you get your full hour

I'm sure if you guys play it smooth throughout, you'll have a good chance at being a successful panel. I mean, there's so much character to 4PlayerPodcast, it can only go well.

It's awesome to see you guys are getting recognized, but there's something I don't like about this.
Somebody already mentioned this, but that summary makes you guys look bad and insignificant. Especially the part that claims the bigger sites are "more talented". Such Chatchery.
But besides that, I know you guys will do well!

I really do hope thats a typo and they clear it up with you guys. Even though some of us can't be at the panel in person, know that the community will be there with you in spirit! Hopefully, we could get some footage, but even a podcast form would be awesome.

I still stay pitch a 30-minute show idea to g4 if 4pp wants to get 'bigger' and more 'well known.' i've got lots of ideas on how that could work if anyone wanted it.

Interesting to see what other panels you're competing with at that time slot. Because lets face it, at all of those things people will sit down and watch things they're not interested in whatsoever if it's the only one.
