Halo Reach is the first game in the series that I have legitimately followed and built hype for prior to launch. The game seems like a complete package because of it's obvious robust multiplayer offering, slick forge mode, and it is one of the only games in the series to really offer some new (at least new to Halo) mechanics and features to make it worthy sequel. Between the jet packs, stealth sequences, and space combat, this game seems to be a bold step forward for Halo. But today, we get our first real peek at the mode (and I am sure that I am in the minority) that won my pre-order, the single player campaign. If Bungie delivers on what they appear to be aiming for, a dramatic, high-octane, summer blockbuster, then I believe this will be the definitive Halo game.

I won't bore you with the details of why I think Reach will be the ultimate and possibly only game worthy of it's hype in this post but you are welcome to read my article from earlier this year: Halo Reach: Concept Evolved.

I thought the trailer was pretty pointless to be honest, it was essentially a glorified teaser which showed nothing new at all. Or maybe it's because nothing could follow up to the awesomeness of the Forge World ViDoc :P

On a side note, Halo 1 and 2 had a few stealth sequences too.

I've been really happy with the Halo series.
(I haven't played ODST or Halo Wars, so I'm not including them.)
The primary reason is that it made no compromises. It was to me the perfect example of a next-generation First-Person shooter.
You walked from one spot to the next and you shot everything in sight, tossing the occassional grenade.

Reach, to me, seems to be mixing up the forumla a little.
I'm not necessarily sure this is a good thing, with the obvious exception of Space Combat which really deserved to be there from the beginning.

This trailer did amp up my interest. I had an idea of what the story was going to be like since I read Fall of Reach, but this trailer still made me think "oh man, what's going to happen?"

It's like we're waiting to play a game that we're going to lose. And we're excited for it.

I'm not a die-hard fan of the Halo franchise, but I did enjoy the games. Halo: Reach, without any biases from previous enjoyment from Halo games, looks fucking amazing. There are very few games that make me go ". . . holy shit". Halo: Reach is one of those games that's making me do just that. I'm really looking forward to this game.

I'm really hoping Reach will have some big "Call of Duty" battles.

Don't get me wrong, Halo and Call of Duty are 2 totally different games each with its plus' and minus'. But one thing I've want to see in Halo for a long time is huge infantry battles like the ones Call of Duty has. Stuff with 30-40 NPCs friendly and enemy fighting it out all at once.

Well I do not have a 360, but if I did this would be a day one purchase for me, and I would buy an Xbox just for this game, and maybe Limbo

I agree Nick Halo has been my number one franchise since Combat Evolved. But now Halo Reach with this big forging system and a great big map of wonders? I think its going to kick ass.

Lets hope they bring in more of those kind of maps.
