I've noticed that every time they've presented the Natal in action, they've yet to have shown the thing being used in a natural home room setting. The room in that video is empty and sterile, which possibly makes it easier to play and track the players.

I live in a small apartment. My room and living room are extremely cramped. I also have furniture.

There is no way I can play with more than one player without smacking them in the face, heck, I probably can't play it alone and it would be a hassle to move my furniture around just to make space to play natal. When the dad stepped on the wife's foot, I immediately foresaw a lot of serious physical contact in the future when playing fatal...err... excuse me, I meant natal.

Unless microsoft shows natal working in a natural home environments with different colored walls, hanging pictures, furniture in the rooms, and less than accommodating spaces, then I don't see natal being successful at all.

This looks incredibly stupid. It did before, but seeing people actually play it looks worse.

The only thing I could see the Natal good for, (assuming it actually would work), would be if someone thought out of the box and did something unique with it.
This thing put in the hands of Hideo Kojima would be insane.
But so far it looks like a stupid gimmick for mini games.

I don't think I've really seen anything yet that makes this better than even a PS2 Eye Toy, minus the somewhat impressive but overall illogical concept demos (Think Molyneux and little boys). It truly is just the same exact shit. But you know what, at least the Eye Toy was marketed as a gimmick with some fun minigames, not this overhyped, overpriced, overexposed shit thats coming off as a 1up to Nintendo and the next step in gaming. Bah to it I say.

I love how the girl in the back is trying to hide from the camera lol and texting. Natal is going to flop, and the sad thing is it really did have potential.

Also, someone at MS really fucked up here. To have this video be released 1 week before their big NATAL Presentation at E3? Now, every person sitting in that convention center will have this video on their mind when Microsoft starts their show. At the moment, Microsoft just created the most expensive Internet Meme of all time.

The biggest problem with Natal is the demos being played in the video seemed very kid oriented, but not many kids buy an Xbox 360 to play lego Indiana Jones or Kung Fu Panda.

The 360 has always had hype with First Person Shooters/online shooters and action games, when little kids hear the hype around Call of Duty or Halo or GTA they want to play those games.

The Wii has it's problems but at least Nintendo has great franchises that are great with or without motion control. Microsoft is going to have a huge problem with tacking on Natal with 3rd Party games, so much so that 3rd party developers won't even add Natal support at all.

I have 3 things to say.

* Where is the inevitable youtube video with gangsta rap being played instead of the real audio. I demand this video right now, internet.

* The man and the woman has to be the WHITEST fucking couple I have ever seen. I'm not even talking about actual skin color, just the god damn way they look, move, sound and the way they ARE. Jesus christ. They are to white people what flava flav is to black people. A disgrace.

* So besides the MS conference last E3, every time I have seen Natal being played has been in a bright empty room with white walls and nothing in it. Except for when they were on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the dudes demonstrating Natal were wearing ORANGE GOD DAMN JUMPSUITS.
If this doesn't get the biggest natal apologist the least bit worried then nothing would.

I do believe it got potential. A big plus is that you actually can use a controller with Natal and the interaction designer in me spins away on ideas how to combine a regular controller with simple motions in the couch like turning head or leaning body.

The focus on the mini game crap has to end though and I'm also worried (like many) about how it actually will work in a normal enviroment.

I wasn't enthusiastic about the natal/wave thing but after seeing the clip of the Kidults acting a fool, it just reminded me to save my money and wait another trillion years before they come up with a controller that uses brain waves =)

Anyone else notice how simply awful the system registered the player's movements? The avatars were glitchy, jerky, and completely non-responsive.

Part of me hopes this is just a really really old model of the NATAL, but an even larger part of me hopes that it's the final build.

I did not have hope for project Natal to beggin with but this video just realy is overkill. There is not a single drop of optemism for this...whatever you want to call it. Microsoft. Please. Just stop trying with this thing because its not going to work.

It's just bad in every way, it's glitchy, it makes you look stupid, the only games they've shown is where you bust balls, it's a fail. Thats really the only way to describe it. A fail. I mean, even with Milo, it's lame. I can help my 13 year old neighbor with his homework, and then go fishing, if I really wanted to. The point of Natal was to do things you can't do in real life. And why would I want to help a virtual kid with his homework, when I don't want to help my neighbor, hell! I don't even want to do my OWN homework. And I don't like fishing either. I guess it's a neat idea, but I'd rather interact with something cooler than a prepubescent kid, which I could do in real life.

I just wonder if Micro$oft has realized how bad this product is going to fuckin' flop. I wonder if they're regretting creating all the [nonexistant] hype.

The only thing I'd want this for would be to play Para Para, and I don't think they'll do that :)
