Red Dead Redemption: Free Roam Multiplayer Revealed

Alright, I'm hyped for this game now.

Funny, I personally didn't care for RDR until I started learning about the multiplayer. And this little bit of info has pushed me over the edge and increased my excitement for it.

Ironic that a couple weeks ago I didn't see the appeal for this game and now I absolutely can't wait for it.

I was thinking, before watching the video, "Man.. so like, is the entire world the game lobby?"

Then it says: "THIS is your game lobby."

FFFF. CAN'T WAIT!

Everything I see or read about this game is just so... positive. It's building on the mechanics set up in GTA IV, its focusing on immersion while still keeping it very traditional, its just awesome. The only real thing that does worry me about the game is the framerate. Its the only thing I've noticed thats been kind of sub par throughout, and honestly, I'm one of those guys who can rarely tell the difference between a 25 fps and 30fps clip. Something tells me its not quite gonna be fixed by May. Oh well, I'll adjust like I did for GTA IV.

Also, don't tell me I'm the only one who's noticed the new Alan Wake trailer seems almost exactly like the RDR, right down to way the narrator speaks and puts emphasis on his words. I prefer RDR Narraror guy though, he just sounds like a complete badass.

Oh dear God. This game just keeps getting better and better every time a new announcement comes out. This is probably the first time I've been this excited for a game in a long long time.

The multiplayer is everything I could've hoped for and more!! :D

I'm pretty sure this is going to be great! But then again.. GTA IV, wasn't as good as I thought!

I didn't know the game was gonna have multiplayer at all until I read this.

Me and my IRL friend were already excited for this game.
But I gotta tell him about this, haha.

I just think the idea of exploring and finding a cool little place/hideout and saying "Okay let's chill around here for a few, and then we can head out" sounds sooo cool.

Anyone know how many people in total can be in one freeroam match?

The multiplayer mode in Red Dead Redemption is looking great. There seems to be a lot of things that players are able to do, and it's even better with a setting that interests me so much.

Aww no PS3 version :( oh well. But seriously i am so hyped for this game. I have seen all the trailers and have studied them to (dual wielding will be in the game and multiplayer). But i just have another reason to get a Xbox 360

This i smy most anticipated game of all time. I'm incredibly over-hyped, but i agree, Game Of The Year for sure.

The game already looked like a work of art and now they bring out this... I have been left speechless, In a good way and looking at the way this works I get the feeling that this almost a next step in online gaming.

Looks like a thread will have be started up for forming posse's, I don't how how willing random people can be in forming teams and not just always Shotgunning to the face. Don't know if random people will be willing to stop screwing about for a couple of seconds and work together as a group. But it will be awesome finding random players willing to join your gang. Looks promising, curious about the other online modes, perhaps something more based on co-op missions?

I can't even express in words how excited i am for this game, especially after seeing the free roam multiplayer stuff.

ZeroCool,Nick is just saying that he won't be getting the PS3 version because his friend only has an Xbox
but the PS3 also has RDR that's why it's MULTIPLATFORM
anyways I'm excited for the multiplayer and even make a badass posse in this badass community and I'll probably do some crazy sh*t online or own a posse by my own(well If I won't form any posse)

Man, I really hope this game lives up to the hype. If not you guys are going to be pretty angry.

Finally, I can re-enact both my dream of playing my own version of Wyatt Earp's revenge AND Sunset Riders in 3D. And now I can play anything else that comes to my mind. This may be the game that finally motivates me to start playing sandboxes again.

And Sgtpierceface, if it does tank badly as a game, I will round up a posse IRL and deliver swift justice to the developers.

Im sooo hyped about this game, im hoping it lives upto the hype.
Im also hoping we can carry criminals or other characters over our shoulder etc, just so I can place them on the tracks or perhaps tie them to it. Who doesnt wanna act like some crazy ass cartoon villian. Plus the idea of an animal hunt sounds really pleasing.

For at least a couple of weeks maybe even up to a couple of months the player interactions in this mode are going to consist of "Want to join my posse?" and then that person being shot in the face while the shooter makes a "clever" spin on the word posse. Once those idiots move on to something else then I can see this mode being pretty fun. I wouldn't be at all opposed to creating a group of rough yet lovable bandits.

I'd like to see what the "other more competitive modes" are.

The thing I like about this multiplayer compared to the GTA4, is the fact that this world will have something to do other than run around in the lobby. I really think they can make this work with the lobby being it's own environment and still being able to run around and do everything. One thing I'm thinking of though is whether or not each character that you can choose will be better at one particular thing? Like will certain characters be better with rifles while a little worse with pistols?

This game is really starting to shape up into something I'd like to get. Not to mention the posse aspect of it. Riding around with your friends on horseback, evading the lawman, and then blowing up a gang hideout. Good times. Now, they just need to have liquor affect how well you ride horses.

So it will be 12 players running around in a big ass map?
