Don't Care About Final Fantasy XIII?

Wasn't that great to be honest...

I wasn't really impressed

The only impressive thing are the graphics, didn't make me want to buy it though. I bought Breath Of Fire 3 for £14( £25 cheaper than FF13) on the PSP yesterday, and I'm sure that Final Fantasy 13 will come no where close to being as good as it.

I own Final Fantasy XIII since Jan 5th and the game doesn't impress me. I finished 12hours and the game is just pressing the X button with some colorful graphics. It's boring and TO linear. It's not worth $60...

Nice opening, Square's openings have usually always been a treat to look at and enjoy, however, an intro that looks aesthetically 100x times worse, but is twice as good is FFVI's for me, and some others of course, cause no matter how much CGI Square shoves into an FF game opening, this still does it for me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGC_EzojK6E

I'm not liking the battle system atm but I heard it get's better. The main reason I like this game is for the characters, even the ones I didn't like to start with are slowly starting to grow on me.

I still don't care. Which is odd, since I'm usually a big Final Fantasy fan. Something about XIII just rubs me the wrong way.

I don't know if I should get this game or just leave the money be on the desk and wait for something else.

Eh, Final Fantasy stopped being about graphics for me after the FF8 debacle.

Watched Vensito play it for a couple of hours yesterday.

Characters were sickening, dialogue was cheesey as hell, music was balls (Jazz/lounge music during a boss fight?), too cutscene heavy.

Sorry David but 13 just doesn't interest me as much as the others have.

i dont know what people are talking about when they say the combat is dull. maybe for the first few hours but it gets really complex and hard (and fun) after a while. I'm really liking this game.

Beautiful looking opening... but still boring

The only thing that impresses me is the graphics and the environments, or just the visuals in general.
But the game still doesn't really interest me at all, considering the game is set to auto-pilot, which basically just makes it a movie.
Awesome visuals, but bad gameplay, or so I keep hearing. So screw that, unless it's an RPG that actually requires some strategy and thinking I'll say "fuck this game" and just stick to other W/JRPGs.

Wow, I dont know if I played the same game as everyone else but this game blew me away. The combat system is fantastic and it adds so much to make it seem fast paced and frantic, at times it almost feels like an action game you are doing so many things at once.

As for the linearity, I really dont know what people's problems are with it, sure there are lots of long hallways to traverse but each one is beautifully created and detailed down to the last centimeter. The epic story also fills in for why the linearity is there, and personally I feel the game would take a hit if it had open world mechanics during the beginning.

The characters being dull... Huh??? I feel now that people these days only expect one or two types of characters in games and everything else is bad. People dont give the characters a chance to open up and show the player who and what they are, they just base them on their looks and VO. I can agree that the scripts are a bit cheesy at times (Mr. Hero BS can get annoying >.>) but it works for the characters if you just spend time to learn who they are.

This Final Fantasy has definitely made it onto my list of top 3 or so FF ever, I cant give it a 100% confirmed placement as I havent completed it yet, but I am counting down the minutes till I can get to Gran Pulse and really see what this game can throw at me!

I'm enjoying FFXIII and that's all that matters to me, kind of stopped trying to get other people to care about games when people called "Valkyria Chronicles" or "Yakuza 3" dull. Cheesy as hell but enjoying every (mostly anyways, Snow needs to stfu about that hero sh*t) moment of it.

I've never played a FF game in my life, and had no intention of doing so, but XIII seems to good to miss, if only for its looks. Although the cheesiness of some cinematics I've seen is putting me off, and I only have a 360 so I,m worried about the number of discs needed

I still don't care. JRPG's have really lagged behind WRPGs for a good 5-6 years now. FF 13 is going in the exact opposite direction that I want to see JRPGs going in, that being more freedom for the player. The 35 hour pipe that they send you down, the very limited choice you have in combat options, the annoying characters all leave a great deal to be desired and no amount of flashy graphics or pretty effects will change that.

I think FF13 might have been okay as a 2 hour movie, but as a game, it's terrible.

26 hours into this game and to me it's really one of the great final fantasies. A huge step up from XII. Also I don't get all the complaints about it being linear, it's no more linear than FFX.

Sorr, but... still dont care. (mostly due to the whole Final Fantasy-ish-ness... never liked FF, really) still fucking beautiful, but that still doesnt make me want it.
