The fall gaming season is finally upon us and despite the numerous delays, there is still a shit storm of games to sort though. Despite the fact that I intend to buy the vast majority of the games coming out this season, I am still going to have to sacrifice one or two until sometime next year. This got me thinking, many of you are going to be facing this same dilemma but most of you will have way more to think about than I will. Honestly, the hardest decision I will have to face is whether to postpone my purchase of Dragon Age or Left 4 Dead, everything else is pretty much in the bag. So my questions for this community are....

1.) If you could only pick up 2 games this holiday season, which would they be? Why?

2.) If you had to sacrifice one game and buy it at a later date, which would it be? Why?

3.) Which should I buy day 1, Dragon Age or Left 4 Dead 2? Why?

This should be good...

1.) Borderlands and Modern Warfare 2. Reason being is both of them seem like games I will play alot and I am a sucker for play time.

2.) if I had to sacrifice one game to play at a later date it would be Modern Warfare 2, because I dont mind waiting a bit for that, borderlands appeals more to me.

3.) Dragon Age, because Left 4 Dead 2 seems to be more of an addition to an old concept we played before and might feel samey, but with Dragon age we are getting fresh new content and alot of story

The two holiday games I would pick up are The Saboteur and Dragon Age: Origins. I'd pick up The Saboteur because it looks really cool how they work in the color, plus with the whole Indiana Jones meets Assassin's Creed vibe that it has. Dragon Age: Origins because I really liked Kotors 1 & 2, and I'm happy to see what Bioware brings to the table. I'd sacrifice The Saboteur because while that is looking good, I can't deny a Bioware game. I think it really depends on which you like better, shooters or RPGs, but I'd say Dragon Age because Left 4 Dead 2 doesn't really look that interesting.

    1) Borderlands and Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time. Because of the length of play for Borderlands and additions to the franchise and love of the series for R&C.

    2) I would sacrifice Borderlands. What can I say about Ratchet and Clank? It's a great series and I want to see the conclusion to the story.

    3) Dragon Age; the story and gameplay alone justifies Day 1.You won't lose out much besides experience if you postpone buying L4D2. Besides, Left 4 Dead prepared you for it anyway.

    1. Beatles Rock Band and Brutal Legend, I've been looking forward to those two games for months and since my 360 Red Ringed on me I'm missing out on two of my most anticipated games of the year.

    2. Borderlands, I've been hearing mixed reactions on the game. High praise on Giant Bomb's quick look for it, but Idle Thumbs' discussion this week almost made me not want to check it out. Also, I'm not totally sure if I could convince others to check this game out with me. Modern Warfare 2 is second, since I'm not a huge COD fan.

    3. Dragon Age, I managed to convince a bunch of friends of mine to check out L4D last year and they barely played the game and instead stuck with Halo. I'd rather purchase a game that isn't really dependent on multiplayer to get the full experience out of it due to my lousy friends' taste in games.

    1) If I could only choose two games this holiday season they would be Borderlands and Dragon Age. The reason being is that they both have the longevity and replayability until I had more money to buy other games.

    2) If I had to sacrifice one game to buy at a later date this holiday season it would be Modern Warfare 2. For as good as is it going to be it is probably just going to be more of Modern Warfare which while is a good thing I have already had the experience of it.

    3) I'm going to buy Dragon Age on day one because it is a brand new experience that I have been waiting for ever since it was announced after Bioware released Neverwinter Knights. While Left for Dead 2 while will be a good game will just be more zombie killing and I can wait.

    1. Borderlands and Assassins Creed 2. Have been hyped up for Borderlands ever since the first teaser.

    2. Assassins Creed 2. Although i enjoyed the assassinations in the first game, i stopped playing half way through the game because of the same missions you need to do in order to get up to them.

    3. Dragon Age, only because L4D2 is the same as L4D..... but i am still getting it because all of my friends are....

Buy Left 4 Dead 2 first because you don't want to be left out on Multiplayer games. Dragon Age is single player right? You can jump into that at anytime. :)

I know how you feel. I too had to choose between L4D2 and Dragon Age. I chose Left 4 Dead though because I have friends who are getting it.

    1.) Borderlands and Dragon Age.

2.) Left 4 Dead 2. I would put this off because I really just don't enjoy multiplayer at all.

3.) Well I've listened to almost every podcast you guys have put out and based on what I've heard you don't seem to be super duper interested in either game. I'd say get L4D2 cause it seems like something you'd enjoy more. You might find Dragon Age enjoyable but if for some reason I were getting you a Christmas present I'd pick L4D2 out of the two.

    If you include early October:

    1. Must have Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2.

    2. Uncharted 2.

    3. Forget L4D2. It's not THAT different from L4D1. Dragon Age sounds FAR more worth it. However, both games are better on PC. :S

If you don't include what has already come out this month:

    1. Borderlands and Tekken 6.

    2. Probably Tekken 6. Honestly... I'm not all that into Diablo-ish games. The fact that it's an FPS doesn't make it more or less appealing to me since I like RPGs anyways.

    3. Doesn't change. L4D2 = L4D1, almost.

    1. Borderlands & Tekken 6 - Borderlands is a fresh IP that looks promising and Tekken because its my favourite fighter.

    2. Modern Warfare 2 - Don't care too much for it and its going to overshadow other releases.

    3. Dragon Age - It's a new IP and Left 4 Dead 2 still doesn't seem appealing enough.

1.Brutal legend and Borderlands (which sounds like it will sell extremely well)
    2. I'd sacrifice Borderlands for brutal legend, because its funny, has a great soundtrack and just all round awesome, although i am becoming more excited by borderlands (btw brutal legend comes out tomorrow here)
    3. L4D2 would be my choice, simply because Dragon age doesn't interest me at all. Also L4D2 is getting a lot of shit which I don't think it deserves, if you loved L4D why are you not excited about a new better version.

    1. Modern Warfare 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. Why? If you couldn't tell by name, I am huge CoDhead and I like any game that involves the genocide of anything with "zombie" in it.

    2. Left 4 Dead 2, Modern Warfare is going to eat up my playing time.

    3. Left 4 Dead 2. I want to see everyone on the feed going into a panicked frenzy when they are FUBAR'd.

    1. "Tekken 6" and "Modern Warfare 2". I was able to throw away my summer on "BlazBlue" and the first "Modern Warfare" so these would be suitable replacements. Plus, they're the only fall releases I have left on pre-order. I already picked up "Uncharted 2" and "Demon's Souls".

    2. I already sacrificed "Brutal Legend". "Assassin's Creed 2" is next on the chopping block.

    3. Pick whichever one fits into your schedule the best, because as busy as the Fall calendar is looking,Spring is looking even worse. If you have alot of time,"Dragon Age",not that much time "Left 4 Dead 2".

    1. Borderlands and Rachet & Clank future: a crack in time. Because those are pretty much the only ones I'm exited about. I know what I'm getting into with both L4D2 and MW2. My brother is buying MW2 (I'm just in it for the singleplayer, he'll get it back) Theres not much in it for me in L4D, I mean, it is a multiplayer focused game.
(Hey, I already got my most-def buy's. Uncharted 2 and Brütal Legend)

    2. L4D2, because like I said, theres not much in it for me.

    3. Can't really answer you, not exactly excited for any of 'em.

    1) Borderlands and a crack in time

    2) Modern warfare, because there are better and more inventive games being released.

    3) Left 4 Dead, simply because I know nothing about dragon age and left 4 dead is a fun game

    1) Boarderlands and Dragon Age, just because they have good developers in my opinion, and they promise to be good games.

    2) Left 4 Dead, because it's not like you're misssing out in much honestly, has a lot of the same features of the last one, just a few different details.

    3) Dragon Age totally, like I stated on #2, Left 4 Dead 2 is mostly the same as the previous one, Dragon Age has a different experience, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot more.

    Hope that helps.

Nick, I'm just going to remind you of something you said a while ago:

You didn't want to get back into l4d because everyone else had so much time with it that nothing was a surprise to them. They knew all the levels and mechanics and there wasn't a whole lot of mystery or discovery for you.

So definitely get L4D2, since it's one of the only game that relies entirely on multiplayer. Dragon age's single player can wait wait for you, l4d2's online experience can't. Like you said, you don't want to miss out on that early time when you first get the game and everyone is on edge because you don't know exactly what to do, and you certainly don't want to get the game in January when everyone you meet will pretty much know the game inside and out.

    Just sayin'

Guess I cheated, here are my answers:

    1) L4D2 (since all my friends are getting it) and Borderlands.
    2) MW2, but I wasn't planning on buying it ever so...
    3) L4D2, for the above reasons.

I cant really think of anything for the first two questions so just answering 3, i would say get l4d2 simply because its very feed friendly
