I also thought it was kind of weird that the guys at Gearbox were only showing off the earlier parts of the game, but Pitchford's explanation about it totally made sense to me.
Can't wait to check out Borderlands later this fall, hopefully if my 360 can be salvaged soon, my October will be devoted to Brutal Legend.

Really good idea on Gearbox's part, I wonder how much other stuff they have in store. Oh and Joseph is really good with words, can't wait for his posts here.

I watched my first trailer for this game a few days ago and I think it looks pretty good. I don't much care for the shell shaded art style-ish look though. I'll be picking it up for the addictive loot system.

That's cell shading, not shell. :)
