assassinscreed2mainchSo here we have the first developer diary released from Ubisoft Montreal in regards to Assassin's Creed II.  The game as you probably know, revolves around a Nobleman, named Ezio, living in Florence in the 15th century.  Very few details have been revealed in regards to the character and story but this new Developer diary sheds some light on the mysterious new assassin.

A few things I would like to point out about the footage seen in the video. First of all, I am a little worried because the game is only 5 months away and the footage we are seeing doesn't appear to be as detailed or necessarily improved in comparison to the original game. I'm hoping there is still plenty of polish to be added in the coming months.

On a more positive note, I think the story and the character are leaps and bounds more interesting than Altair's character. The motivation and the setting have changed enough to suggest much more variety in regards to missions and objectives. It seems that Ezio will be determining his objectives rather than taking orders.

All of this aside, I still can't wait to see what Ubisoft has in store for us when the game hits in November. I will continue to post the Developer diaries and post my commentary as they become available.

Creed 1 created this whole enourmous alive world, but forgot to make it interesting. All show and no substance. Doubt they learned their lesson because it sold like crack.

I've been waiting for the sequel to Assassin's Creed for a while. This developer diary just gets me even more hyped up for the new game. I just hope they make the necessary changes that they say they have. The first showed so much potential but as most have noted it got repetitive. So I can't wait to see what happens.

I was never really into the gameplay of Assassin's Creed, but I really liked the historical aspects of the game. With the second taking place in a Renaissance Italy, I'm even more interested in seeing what they pull off with this game.

A little more variety in the second, and I might actually warm up to Assassin's Creed 2.

These kinds of developer diarys from Ubisoft rub me the wrong way. It is really just a marketing tool while I was hoping for a bit more behind the scenes kind of things (like Platinum Games does).

Can't wait to see the new tools DaVinci engineers for Ezio throughout the game. It should be more interesting than the ones in the first, where you are limited to only 4 weapons. Excluding your fists.

Cant wait for this game and the cinematic trailer was really well done. But you had a little typo "The game as you probably know, revolves around a Nobleman, named Ezio, living in Florence in the 15th century. Very details have been revealed in..." Did you mean to say Many details or very few details?

Italia, il mio amore....how I love the country of my ancestors. The location for this game interests me quite a bit. I was for one, somebody who enjoyed the first Assassins Creed. I'll definitely be watching more of these Dev Diaries, even if they are essentially just a hype machine.
