4Player is Now on Blog Talk Radio

We have been podcasting for 8 years now and we love every minute of it! Since our inception, we have watched as our audience and popularity has ebbed and flowed; carried by the fast-moving trends that drive this industry that we love. When we started back in 2007, we were lucky enough to get in on the ground floor of gaming on Justin.Tv which catapulted our podcast onto the charts in the years that followed. We have ridden that wave for a long time but the time has come for us to get with the times and foster our own growth going forward…

Today, we are pleased to announce that 4Player Podcast is now a part of Blog Talk Radio, one of the world’s leading podcast hosting platforms! But what does this mean for you, the listener? Well, to be honest, the impact on our existing subscribers is minimal. To those who already subscribe on iTunes, the switch has already been flipped and you shouldn’t see any interruption in the feed.  But here is what this means for us as content creators and an online community that we hope to grow in the years to come:

1.) Let’s get the big one out of the way… You are sure to notice the inclusion of shorts ads at the beginning and end of our podcasts each week. Yes, we know it’s been great to listen to a show without ads but this is the price we must pay for the added benefits that this new platform provides. One thing we can assure you of is that we are NOT doing this for the (minimal) added revenue that these ads provide. In fact, we have the option to fill our podcast with multiple ads but we have no intention of doing this. The pre/post roll ads are the absolute bare minimum required from us by the service and the control it gives back to us as content creators is worth this minor drawback. Just know that you are supporting our show, our efforts, and as always, we appreciate that support!

2.) 4Player Podcast will now be distributed and made available on a number of different podcast platforms as a result of this new partnership. In addition to iTunes and SoundCloud, new episodes will be automatically distributed on Stitcher, Aha Radio, and TuneIn. We are also exploring our options for adding the Podcast to Google Play and Spotify in the near future.

3.) As content creators, Blog Talk Radio will provide us with a level of control and clarity behind the scenes that simply wasn’t available to us in the past. We will have a much clearer picture of the overall performance of our show which will help us steer this ship in the right direction as we move forward.

Long story short, we’re trying something new. Our hope is that the community will embrace the change and support us as we make an effort to reach new people. Of course, you can still count on 4PlayerNetwork.com to be your one stop shop for all of our Podcast episodes and videos. With that said, you can find us at www.BlogTalkRadio.com/4PlayerPodcast and on all of the distribution services we already mentioned. Please drop by, give us a follow, and of course help us spread the show via social media when new episodes are made available.
