4PP 278: The Capri Sun Show

By 4Player Podcast on July 16th, 2012 (11 comments)

We are wrapping up our second week (Retro Week) of community month on 4pp.tv so we spend some time reflecting back on some older titles like Majora's Mask, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Oregon Trail. Not to worry however, there is plenty of discussion to be had about Spec Ops: The Line and the highly anticipated release of Halo 4. After getting some hands-on time with Halo at RTX this past weekend, it's time to decide if yet another Halo game deserves to earn the respect and anticipation that it seems to be getting. Don't forget to tune into 4pp.tv every night in July to watch us play the games that were voted on by you!

The Dark Knight was over-hyped as all fuck. I'm not sure what Brad was getting at, Begins and Knight were both great films, the reason why you could like one and not the other was that they had very different pacing and very different themes. Ra's al Ghul wanted to destroy Gotham in a very methodical and indirect fashion, the Joker wanted to -control- Gotham through terrorism masked as anarchy. Personally, I'm going to enjoy Bane for just that reason. Batman Begins couldn't have been paced like the Dark Knight, and the Dark Knight couldn't have been paced like Begins. Don't ask Rises to do the same going either way and you might actually enjoy it. A side-note to consider is that Nolan has confirmed that the Joker isn't even referred to in the film.
