Your Guide to the 2012 Steam Summer Sale [FINAL DAY UPDATE]

We knew this day would come. We didn't know when, but we knew what we were facing: wallet-destroying SAVINGS.
Yes, my friends, Valve's annual Steam Summer Sale has begun. As we bow down in thanks to our holy Valve overlords and their leader the mighty GabeN, let us remember to not spend ourselves into unforgivable debt.
Alright that being said, let's get right down to brass tacks. The sale, lasting July 12th through 22nd, will be updated every day at 12pm CST with eight new games at very, very low prices. The sale includes several new features like the ability for Steam users to vote on one of three games to be extremely discounted the next day as well as, for the first time, the inclusion of indie bundles into the sale.
We'll be breaking things down for you over the next ten days so that you may relish in the wonderful savings. Please keep in mind that these are in USD so expect some differences if you live outside the United States.

There are also flash deals that end in less than a day. For those wanting to get the most bang for their buck one good rule of thumb to live buy is to avoid buying anything that isn't a daily deal until the last day of the sale. This rule has applied to the past few years' sales but it may be different this year, who knows.

Link / ReplyI'm frustrated because I just $15 on the Alan Wake deal they had yesterday on GOG.com, but my computer isn't good enough to run it, even on the lowest settings. So now I'm $15 out when I could have spent it on today's deals on Steam. But then again, I try to avoid buying things on Steam, unless I really want it.

Link / ReplyiD is by far the best deal of all packs. If you like iD the only reason not to buy this pack is because Doom 3 BFG edition is around the corner. I already bought complete Quake pack prior to this. Bethesda could have been better if they had all Elder Scrolls games on Steam.
