Audible Impressions: Lumines ES Vol. 1
By 4Player Podcast on March 4th, 2012 (19 comments)

NEW FEATURE ALERT! Welcome to the first episode of Audible Impressions! These bite sized shows will feature 30-minute conversations between two staff members about a single game. Rather than organize these in numerical order however, each game will contain volumes in order to allow us to return to the game for future episodes. David and Nick kick things off with their initial impressions of Lumines: Electronic Symphony on the Playstation Vita. Let us know your opinions on Lumines in the comments below and we will revisit them on the next volume! Enjoy!

neat idea, will download and listen now
Link / ReplyFinished, thought it was really good. Audio quality was good for it to be recorded over skype and David was a great host.
Link / ReplyThanks for the feedback, I was surprised the Skype call worked so well!
Link / ReplyReally cool idea, listening now
Link / ReplyThis is a great segment idea.
Link / Replyso does this mean that this "lumines" discussion wont be on the next weekly podcast? I think its a good idea. Especially if only say 2 out of the 4 played a game and the others didnt. This way we get an in depth conversation without all the sideline talk from people who have never played the game, "dont own the system", never heard of the game or whatever.
Link / ReplyThat is exactly why we have started this little series. The next podcast will center around a few key games while some of the other games will be moved to the "Audible Impressions" show. Hope you like it. I think the next episode will be about Asura's Wrath.
Link / ReplyGreat show. I just finished listening. You and david did a great job, skype call has good enough audio quality so no issues...much better than having background noises in the dinnertime at least(which is fine for dinnertime giving the circumstances). Looking forward to the future audible impressions.
Link / ReplyAlso would be nice in the future for a more in depth news topic impressions as well, because sometimes i feel like the news section in the weekly podcast just doesnt seem to cover a lot. Especially seeing the amount of news being posted on the site. An in depth discussion on AC3, or maybe the valve's "steambox" etc....would be nice. Iono its kinda sad that brad doesnt even know that race/species this day1 DLC for mass effect 3 will be...i mean im sure he would of had more to say than just. "its dlc character like zaeed...who cares about another zaeed?!" ill tell you brad...joseph does! Iono like what do u think nick about the mass effect 3 day1 dlc character? Stuff like that
Link / ReplyI like the idea behind this segment, but this particular episode didn't seem to gain very much momentum. Interested to see where this will go.
Link / ReplyCould you elaborate a little bit?
Link / ReplyOn gaining momentum? It could have been lack of voices (not that there's anything wrong with only two people). Maybe it was because I was multitasking while listening to the show. Maybe the tangents went on for longer than normal.
Link / ReplyThat's cool, I'll listen later.
Link / ReplyThat's pretty neat. Like the idea of hearing more about games that didn't come up on the weekly podcasts.
Link / ReplyI like this podcast idea. Although, I do think you should be allowed to run longer, not rush to end at 30 minutes.... a show that went up to about an hour would be good with me. Stop anywhere before an hour, but atleast have an hour cut off. It's hard to talk about a game in 30 minutes, without getting everything you wanted to say in.
Link / ReplyI'll definitely pay attention to these. The main podcast is fun, but often too long for me to find time to listen to unless it focuses on a subject I'm particularly interested in. These will be much more convenient for a quick review, and there won't be as much interruption with only a couple people talking.
Link / ReplyI really like this idea. I said before that you guys have done a great job improving the site. I think your strongest point are your podcasts wether it be the regular podcast, cocktail time, Audible, Dinnertime, etc. Keep em up guys.
Link / ReplyI really like the idea of this. It was nice to hear more about lumines, and hopefully these will help shorten podcast times. Not that i think they are too long, but you guys seem to be rushed sometimes when theres a lot of game impressions. BTW, in Lumines Supernova (the psn game) did have a mode where you could create your own skin. It was called sequencer, and it gave you preset sounds that you unlocked by playing the game and unlocking new skins. I dont think it was very deep though, and you couldnt change the default visuals. It was kinda neat though, and i think they could expand on it.
