Aliens: Colonial Marines delayed to the fall
By Joseph Christ on January 26th, 2012 (12 comments)

Aliens: Colonial Marines, originally slated to be released on -a slightly ambiguous- Spring 2012 now seems to have been pushed back to -a just as ambiguous- Fall 2012.
Sega is currently not commenting on the push back, but we can only imagine that there is still a hefty amount of work to be done on the title. Not only is getting the correct tone in an Aliens game absolutely necessary, but Gearbox is also working with some new graphics and lighting technology they developed specifically for this title. And developing technology from the ground up is sure to put some dents in your milestones.
Let's just hope they are using the extra time to make an Aliens game worthy of the name. You can see the trailer for the upcoming title here.

Damn it. I've been looking forward to this one for a couple of years now. It looks promising. They should launch the game to coincide with the Prometheus movie.
Link / ReplyI just hope the pushback is for extra polish, and not the traditional "We wanna make people choose during the holidays" Pushback. While Im excited for a new Aliens game, when it comes down to the Fall Lineup, I fear it would be passed over for larger, more well known titles.
Link / ReplyI agree with both comments above... Anyways, at least this will give me time to play ME3 to the fullest.
Link / ReplyGreat, all the Alien fans get to wait even longer for something that will probably fail like Duke or AVP
Link / ReplyCarlos will not be pleased
Link / ReplyI don't care. I've seen the game and it looks bad.

Link / ReplyAhhhh Joseph the thumbnail you used for this post is my FAVORITE scene in Resurrection <3 But on topic. More delaying of this game makes me sad, though hopeful? I dont want it to fail so if they need a few more months to buff shit out, go for it. I will await this game patiently.. /eyetwitch

Link / ReplyI hope they get that feel that Alien fans want. If they need the time to do it, then they should take it.
Link / ReplyDelays and Gearbox games go hand in hand. Borderlands 2 and Brothers in Arms are also slated for this year. I honestly don't see Gearbox releasing three of their big titles all in this year.
Link / ReplyWho the fuck cares about this game anyway? Judging from the trailers A:CM is going to be an insult to James Cameron's Aliens.
