This week Brad and Jack sit down to talk about zombies, big adventures and, as it has been talked about quite a bit already, Tactics Ogre.

As sad as I am to think this way I have to agree with Brad, Binary Domain has no chance. I really hope there is a Demon's Souls word of mouth effect for it but I doubt it. Despite that it looks really great. Abobo looks delightfully zany.

Man, I loved FF tactics but don't have a handheld. It would be friggin' sweet if they released FF tactics ogre on the PSN or something.

If I had a PSP I would buy Tactics Ogre instantly, sadly I don't have a PSP.

At the end of the Lollipop Chainsaw trailer, the main character has a keychain of what looks like a Chuck Greene head.

I think Brad was talking about Lollipop Chainsaw not Onechanbara when he said that it "didn't play poorly but it was kind of simple."

    Darksiders II
    - A friend of mine lent me his copy of the first game a while back, and at first I didn't know what to think of it. I knew that it borrowed heavily from Zelda games, but as I played more and more, I was really enjoying the game. It took things from Zelda, but still felt like it had it's own identity. Even though I didn't finish the game, what I played was fantastic and I can't wait to play the second game. But I would like to finish the first game as well since I was rather close to the end. One of the things that I loved in the first game was the designs of characters, enemies, and bosses, and it looks like the second game has more awesome designs. I'm anxious to see what they come up with. I will say, though the look of "Death" doesn't really bother me, I do find that they could have made him look more dark and menacing, after all, he's one of the horsemen of the apocalypse, and friggin Death to boot. But nonetheless, I'm looking forward to this game.

I picked up Tactics Ogre a while back on Brad's recommendation because I thoroughly enjoyed Valkyria Chronicles (probably in my top five of all time) and I had heard it was similar, if only in tenuously.

I played through it once and was significantly disappointed. I'm sure it didn't help that I got one of the "bad endings" but I found a ton of things wrong.

The crafting system is completely insane, I don't think I've ever played a game with a more tedious system. It takes forever to craft the things you want, you have to craft each thing one at a time, it takes WAY too long to craft items in the first place, and there's always a chance of failure, which means you have to save in between crafting important things.

Also I thought the class system was an interesting idea, but it really just encourages you focus on a few classes and leave the rest behind. At least that's how I saw it.

I have no idea who Kacey Jones is (or however you spell it) so coming from that perspective, Darksiders II's 'Death' kinda reminds me of 'Spawn' or some other Todd McFarlane creation.

I do think the design could be a fair bit better but it's also not so bad. Makes me wonder if Brad is just suffering from a ''What has been seen, cannot be unseen'' situation with this Jacey Jones character, haha.

Still, the character design aside, it's one of my most anticipated 2012 games by far, along with Twisted Metal. Those two alone are possibly my only Day 1 purchases so far. Most other titles still have to win me over.

I'm glad I watched this for the Binary Domain trailer though. That looks way better than it originally did and i'm glad to be hearing good things about it. May have to pick that up too.

I don't quite get why Jack was so stunned about Abobo's Big Adventure, but it's cool that it was showcased here. It seems flash games get talked down to too much on this site.

I fell in love with Tactics Ogre when I played it. I felt like I was finally playing a proper strategy rpg since I felt like I've been always playing the lower tier games. Tactics Ogre makes me sad in a way because it always reminds me of Vagrant Story from the moves and grimoire names. I still wish there will be a Vagrant Story 2. It will never see the light of day, but I can't let go.
