I only had a little bit of time with the new Twisted Metal back at E3, but I can tell from the trailer below that things have come a long way with the game since then. Not only does the game look, and seem to play, better but we're also finally getting a look at the stylings of the FMV cutscenes.  Remember when FMV cutscenes were awful? Well that time seems to have passed for good. What we have here are highly produced, and professional scenes that could easily stand on their own as mini-movies.  They show us a bit of background for some of the main characters that I'm sure will be expounded upon when we finally get to see the entire things in-game.

The new Twisted Metal is shaping up very nicely and it's about time we were blessed with a new car combat game worthy of the title.

The FMVs look like a mix of old Twisted Metal 2 style FMVs and live action actors, which could be a pretty good mix if done right.

Ill admit i have a lot of concerns for TM gameplay wise because i was raised on car combat with TM being my most beloved childhood series, but at about 1:40 in the vid, hearing that sweetooth chuckle was a great thing.

Looks cool. Anyone else notice they blacked out the woman in the sweet tooth scene. Bleh

This new Twisted Metal looks really good, the dark comedy/style was done very well and the gameplay itself looks intense and polished.

Remember when Mr. Grimm didn't look like shit? Those were the days. Kind of sucks that they decided to make the Grimm in this game the worst in the series just because they wanted people to try and identify with a character that they completely ruined. I couldn't care less about that character anymore.

For me personally, Twisted Metal, Skyrim and Dark Souls are the big 3 this year. I couldn't be looking forward to this any more than I already am but I am incredibly impressed with how Stylised the cutscenes seem to be.

Mr Grimm braking on his bike and having the ground crack under him, Dollface falling to her knees and twitching and the Sweettooth scene in that run down house. They're definitely getting the 'Twisted' part of Twisted Metal across.

Calypso looks very cool in this incarnation too. The red eyes and aura.
    Roll on October 4th! :D
